Tate!

J already knows that I loved this character. Now that he's gone dead, does that mean he and Annette are going to be a *gulp* couple?

I hope not. He comes across as someone who can be a real confidante for Cat and still throw jabs at Bones when needed. I liked that. Bones and Tate may never be friends, but, they will do anything to keep Cat safe.

I couldn't help liking Tate, too, even if he is "competing" with Bones. He's a great leader, determined, stubborn but able to admit when he's wrong...and hot too, of course. I hope him and Cat will stay great friends...and it seems like Tate was becoming more open-minded by the end of OFITG.

Remember when he learns Cat was dating a vampire, he asked with a whiney voice `is this a revenge?´ as if girl cant go on a date unless it has something to do with him.
and after that wild wild night Cat had with Bones to make up, he also decided it is his business to comment on their love life.

I kinda agree. The only reason he did hook up with Annette was because he wanted to see why Cat preferred dead over him. He does tend to be a little whiny and self-centered when it comes to Cat, but at the same time, I think that adds to the story as well. If he wasn't like this, then I think Bones would have reacted different while they were at the compound. Plus, it gives Bones some competition for Cat and it'll give him some motivation.

I deff. agree with that because without Tate we most likely wouldnt get to see Bones get territorial over Cat [ which by the way I looove when he does that ] it just makes the story that much better, like the smart comments he (Bones) makes to Tate and makes it a point to show Tate in all ways that Cat is his and no one elses.

Tate has a very typical military special forces mentality... as far as the "mission" goes. As a person, seriously - he needs to reach behind him and pull that stick out of his butt. I think I saw evidence of that at the end of OFitG. He is a little whinny and self centered... But I get the impression that Tate has always been the "Big Man on Campus", the guy all the girls want... which is why I think he's fixated on Cat to the extent he has. She treats him like a brother but isn't interested in him as a man. Which makes him want her more.

Even on missions once in awhile he seems to want to argue with Cat. I get the distinct feeling sometimes that if she had given in to him just once he would have gone on to someone else who was unavailable. He knows he can't actually have Cat so he's fixated on that because she's "safe". He won't have to make a long-term commitment. What he really reminds me of is the kid in day-care who only wants the toys someone else is playing with!
