I never thought I'd say this, but I'm finding myself liking Tate a little bit more now I know, I know! I couldn't stand him for the longest time, but I'm slowly (very slowly) not hating him so much now. Maybe it's because he isn't in the books as much or maybe it's because I feel like he isn't trying so hard for Cat anymore. And I may be thinking that because I haven't done a re-read of the latest book in a while

I never hated Tate when he acted the way he did in book 2,3,4 but I felt sorry for him because of his desperation and love for Cat it made him seem like a lovesick puppy to everyone else and he isn't really like that. After we got a glimpse at his backstory in TSOTG I respected him for holding out all those years as an orphan and joining the military and making something of himself and in all fairness if he'd met Cat before Bones did there was a good chance that she might have developed feelings for him other than fraternal.
On the other hand I'm glad he accepted Cat's relationship with Bones even though my heart goes out for him because it's obvious he still loves herand really could it be fair that we question whether it's real love he feels when we've met at least a couple of women who are in love with Bones?

If I can't have a Bones, I'll take a Tate...
