Hey guys HTTG is out in audio book  :D :) :D . I found it in audible.com which is an Amazon company and their prices are very reasonable and you can download it directly to your Ipod. The prize for members is 14.68 or 1 credit and for no-members is 20.97. Here is the link if anyone is interested, there is a sample of the book and it sounds great: D :D :D

Frosties,

The audio for Halfway to the Grave is excellent.

Buy it, and give it a chance. Tavia Gilbert, the narrator, brings Cat alive. Her british accent with Bones is impressive. Other character voices are distinctly different. As she recreated the story with her voice, I melted into it.

I hope One Foot in the Grave comes out as an audio too.

Glad you enjoyed it China Doll. One Foot in the Grave audio book will release November 1 and will use the same actress. I don't think that At Grave's End or Destined for an Early Grave have be picked up yet. :-)

That's some GREAT news! I really love the audiobook!

mommytrish wrote: I was a little hesistant with audiobooks too at first. But I travel in my car for work and music and talk radio becomes annoying after a while, so I love to escape with my favorite books....... but I found out that reading while driving was very dangerous (HA!) so the audiobooks work great for me.

I won't listen to a new book on audio...I need the visuals in my head first when I read it..........but I will re-read (via my ears) my favorite books while I am driving or cleaning or walking the dog etc.

however, you need a really good narrator, no matter how well the book is written if the narrator is not up to par, then the audio book will not be either.....I will not mention titles, but there are some really great narrators out there and unfortunately, some monotone narrators too. ugh!

Exactly! I like to listen to my audiobooks while doing the dishes, cleaning the house, walking around, even when i'm workig (on the computer using an adobe program or something), while driving is one of the best ways to avoid boredom during traffic jams. Sometimes I simply lay in bed playing a little game on my itouch or while sketching. LOve audiobooks.

Of course, I first read the books and then hear it many many times with the audio =D And I will mentioned a really good audiobook, The Host by Stephenie Meyer, I think that's the best narrator I have come across. With at least 5 different speakers in a scene I can identify who is who just by the voice AND the male voices are Perfect. Also a great book; no vampires though =p but still loved it.

Audiobook fans:
This just in from Jeaniene's blog post
In other news, I’m happy to report that my wonderful agent Nancy Yost sold three more of my books to Blackstone Audio, so now it’s official – the first four books in the Night Huntress series plus First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, book one) will all have audio editions.

i just listened to the sample of Halfway to the Grave. I love the narrator, i could picture the club in my mind. I think it a bit odd a women doing a guys lines, but it was just a small sample. I think ill be getting it. then i can sit down and listen to it, and save my books.

i dont think i could listen before i had read it. because i needed to have the pictures in my head already. Cant wait to get it and the rest of them.

Go for it, totally worth it, IMO.

the reason I started liking or listening to audiobooks is because english is not my first language, and even though I understood it, it was still hard a year or so ago for me to actually read a book. So when I got Twilight (lolz) a friend let me borrow her audiobooks, and so I listen to the audiobook while reading the book. And of course, don't forget my Dictionary app opened and being used every two minutes or so. XD After the series was over, i tried just listening to the audio. It was hard but i listened to them so many times, i practically knew the lines by heart (still do lolz, sorry first vamp book ever) and so i decided to try new books, new audiobooks.

Now I can read a book without the help of the audio and the dictionary (though i still use daily). =D So i would alway love audiobooks, because i love the feeling of 'accomplishment' i feel whenever i finish one and i can say i understood :)

Vlad'sGal,
I know what you mean. When I first purchased the audio, a few weeks ago, I had a problem with a woman doing Bones' voice or male voices in general, but the more I listened to the audio, and it only took a few chapters, the more I got used to the Bones voice and other male voices. Now, I accept, like, and love the male voices, especially, the british accented Bones' voice.

Tavia Gilbert, the narrator, is very talented. Key scenes like Bones telling how he became a vampire, Cat's first sexual experience with Danny Melt, Bones and Cat's first date at Bite, the vampire club, Cat's meeting Bones ex-flames, Francesca, the before dead nun, and of course Cat telling Bones she loves him are favorites of mine to listen to. Also, Tavia gives Justina a strong Minnesota accent which was great to me. I can't wait for the audio of One Foot in the Grave when Justina calls Bones " a filthy animal  " her classic retort to Bones for any situation.

Hey, Frost Fans! It's great to read the kind comments about my work on the audiobook narration. I'm pleased that you're enjoying the series! The Audible reviews reveal that some people love the performance and some people HATE it, and as an audiobook listener, as well as narrator, I can identify with the passionate response. There are reader performances I adore and those I don't. Of course, I'm delighted when a listener feels I've nailed the intention of the author and voiced the characters in a way they love. I am beginning work on First Drop of Crimson next week, and then will pick back up with Cat and Bones in At Grave's End soon after. Thanks so much for listening!
