Poor Coop deserves someone likeable. A or J don't meet that standard!

pink: She was referring to Annette knowing him for 200 years. They were friends and sex mates. Annette claims to have loved Bones all that time, though he never loved her romantically, he did consider her a friend.

J was just saying after that lengthy road trip through Lustville, anyone would have fought to keep it going. Of course she was also taking the opportunity to yank my chain.

Even so, she and Justina are on my sh** list and I really hope neither of them show up in the remaining novels.Why Cat tolerates both of them is a mystery

There's no mystery as to why Cat tolerates Annette. You don't tell someone in your life that just because they're yours now that they can't remain friends with someone they have known for more than two hundred years. Remember, Bones and Annette go all the way back to his human life and if it weren't for Annette he wouldn't have been sent to the penal colonies - he would be long dead at this point. So, as long as Annette knows (and she does) that there will be no more sexual favors Cat can put up with her once in a while.

As for Justina, she's Cat's mother. Good, bad, indifferent or anything in between she is Cat's mother and Cat loves her. So while she may not see as much of her as she did before, when she does see her she will tolerate Justina's attitudes and remarks unless she goes too far. Then Cat will give her a gentle setdown to remind her that things have changed and she needs to adjust. I honestly think if Rodney had lived we'd be seeing an entirely new Justina. So If she finds someone who can be another Rodney for her I'm thinking that would be a great thing. (And I'll throw in my vote for Cooper!! )

I honestly think if Rodney had lived we'd be seeing an entirely new Justina. So If she finds someone who can be another Rodney for her I'm thinking that would be a great thing.

Agreed. I am not a Justina fan but if she were to find someone who would keep her leveled then it could be a good thing. Until then, maybe she needs to visit Juan to relieve some tension. Heh.

wc,I understand your POV and respect it but despite what Annette tried to do to rectify what she did when she first met Cat -and she didn't cross the line ever since [ unlike Tate]- I don't like her because to me she's just obnoxious and I don't like her little comments. However, I don't have a problem with her promiscuity. In fact I respect the fact that JF wrote a female character who is sexually uninhibited and isn't ashamed of it. But we ALL know that if the situation was reversed and Cat had been sleeping with someone for years before she got back together with Bones, he would've snapped him in half and probably killed anyone else she's been involved with. He wanted to off poor Noah and he didn't do anything wrong! That's what bugs me,that she's always around even though Cat doesn't even like her.

As to Justina,I totally agree.You can never turn your back on your mum no matter what, but let's face it Justina has been really bad to Cat in the first two decades of her life but I see a slight change in OGAAT.

And JF is known to make magic with her writing, if she writes Justina/Cooper with full conviction that they should be each others HEA then we'll probably be into it too.

As to Justina,I totally agree.You can never turn your back on your mum no matter what, but let's face it Justina has been really bad to Cat in the first two decades of her life but I see a slight change in OGAAT.

In Death's Excellent Vacation too. Justina at the situs invertus scene gave us some insight into the love she has for her daughter - however poorly she demonstrated it in the first twenty years of Cat's life.

Well said. I agree on the Justina point as well. Rodney helped her be more open to not all supes being evil. That was a long-held belief. I, too, think she would be in a different place had he survived.

CPB, I may have been in the restroom when she said that, but I do remember something about Cooper and Annette, "Annette and Cooper, sittin' in a tree, k-I-s-s-I-n-g!" Everybody now!
