There is so much going down in the Ward threads. Some people hate it and are done with the series now. I knew I was skeptical, but I never thought I'd HATE it. Now I'm curious how I feel. It's not just some random person over there either, there are several that said they won't read the books any more and if they do they have to pretend this one didn't happen. Ruh-roh.

My take? I didn't LOVE it but I did like it...

***There's not really any spoilers below, I kept it all vague but I put it under spoiler just in case...

Random thoughts:

Spoiler: show
I didn't cry & laugh constantly like a lot of others keep saying they did I guess I just didn't get that invested into it. Part of the problem for me was that i'm a sucker for deep emotional wrecks of a character. I love reading books that tear me apart make me sob, maybe throw in some gut wrenching stabby pains too. (I know Masochist much? ;) Anyways so with everything Tohr has been thru you'd think his book should have been all that and more, but Ward failed me here. I don't think she captured his pain right. Multiple times she has Tohr unleash his "pain" by making a complete ass out of himself and cutting the heroine down by personally attacking her out of left field. I wasn't down with that. But I did enjoy Lassiter (am I spelling him right?!) a lot! And I can't tell you how much easier it is to read the books now that the Lesser BS crap is gone. I'll admit I was one to follow the 'skim the lesser bits and go straight back to the brothers' reading plan in the other books. But I find Xcor and his Band of Bastards highly entertaining so I happily didn't need to skim any of this book!

I did love the little glimpses of our Brothers. Rhage's dance moves and holy hell, I don't know who won't melt with V's little moments in the book! And lastly I know Wrath isn't on top of most people's fave list (how could he when he has to compete with V and whatnot!) but he still holds a special place in my heart because he was the first afterall, anyways I was happy that he had quite a few decent parts in this book to show off his King-ly self. *sigh* I heart my Beloved Blind King!

And Lastly- Team Qhuay: *sniffs* There was hardly any Qhuay at all. I want, no I NEEDED more dammit! HOW AM I TO MAKE IT UNTIL THE NEXT BOOK WITH THAT ENDING?!!

I am just not getting "the hate" on this book..... I loved it! Butch, Phury and JM were the ones I wasn't overally thrilled with BUT even with those I would never stop reading a series. Especially when I am that far into it. I'm not an author (lucky I can string 2 words together) so I sometimes wonder who am I to be hyper-critical. I just don't like when people get down right mean about "a book sucking" on an authors site and I think some are. Just my opinion....

Yep, uh-huh, and that's right! I agree with all that stuff I quoted you on in the spoiler bar - especially the stuff about V :D

Spoiler: show
Shirtless and sweaty V in the forge? Sweet mercy!!

I think this book...nope, still figuring out how I feel about it. It's definitely a worthwhile read - if only to make up your own mind about what happens, but get ready to be punched in the gut. I am beginning to think somebody owes me a rythe. JamieLea, did you start it yet? Anybody want to start a support group for Qhuinn/Blay? And am I the only one feeling the love for Saxton? NO, not Blay/Saxton, no, no, no, just general admiration for the awesome generosity of that male.

Spoiler: show
And for those of you who've read it, what do you think of a Saxton/Throe HEA? Too crazy? I think it would rock!

I'm halfway through and I'm loving it. Some of these books have definitely been better than others, but I have loved each and every one.

Kinda glad I didn't go to the signing this year. I hear there's over 900 people there! Waiting patiently for the Q&As to begin and for someone to post who's next!!!

FUCKIN' A!!! Oh, I'm so sorry; I just lost control there for a minute! I'm so glad Ward is giving them their own book as part of the series instead of just a novella!

If you go to her fb page a woman named Esther is posting info....I'm trying to read before it is pulled down as I don't think the Warden really allows that, hopefully a transcript will show up somewhere.

Meh. I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not a huge Qhuinn/Blay fan. So I'm not as pumped as everyone else, but hey a BDB book is a BDB book!
