Am I the only one?

Postby JamieLeaM » 13 Nov 2011, 13:23

Please tell me I am not the only one that peaks around the shower curtain now to be sure I don't get hit with the tank cover from the toilet! I've always been sure not to read or see anything with a scary shower scene, just because it is the creepiest thing to me and would have me terrified for the longest time. It was just a shock and a little bit scary though, so I could handle it. Don't get me wrong I loved the creep factor in this and it had me (and still does) looking over my shoulder. Actually, I loved the fact that we had a bit more scare in this book since that is the typical vampire story genre and it was nice to add this emotion into the book as well as all of the others we've had. I think it was the perfect amount of fright, love, ass kicking (can never get too much), gore, smut, and even a sad moment or two.

So tell me, do you peak out of the shower after reading this, or am I really the only one? How freaked out did this book have you after you finished it?

Jamie: I have a clear shower door, so it would be difficult to sneak in. I will say I thought Kramer was a very believable baddie. Very scary. Knowing what he did to his victims, how long he had been doing it, and the big question of how do you win against this thing, all contributed to a nail biter. I thought Jeaniene stepped up to the plate with this one. :D

 I would probably be looking if I didn't already have a clear shower curtain... :D

My shower curtain is opaque but I have a real small bathroom and if the door opens it opens right along the side of the tub so no one is going to be sneaking in on me. I will admit to having a few "Oh my God did I hear something" moments tho!!

My curtain is see-through (well kind of, it's blurry, but I can see if anyone came in), so haven't really thought about it. I have done it in the past when I had a dark curtain ;).

It's me, too. But I did it already before reading this scene. It's also when I have to wait for a bus or have to go home at night. Then I turn around every few seconds and even nearly start running because in my mind there are popping up some pics what would happen now, if I was in a thriller...
So I'm really scared of the friday nights when I have to go home through this one very dark street after my volleyball-training. Today it was pure hell for me because at the moment there's a criminal - who harasses people and who is hunted by the police - hanging around somewhere in our village...Image
And now I have to go to take my shower  ...

Well, not really, b/ I'm kinda scare-free, which people always tell me, will get me in trouble some day, but I do understand what gets you on edge here. Can see the scare and creep factor. :D Btw - I'm working nights a lot, so I'm glad I'm not actually scared of the dark or something, b/ I could come home anytime from midnight to six in the morning. xD

Does anyone else think it is Max who is supplying the vampire blood to Madigan? It might have occurred off page but it was never said where they took him or who was guarding him after the torturing in At Grave's End.
