The Letter in the Box...

I didn't want to see the letter; as long as Cat didn't read it to me Bones was alive. Her reading it said he was dead. I thought those scenes of Cat's grief were awesome. I felt her pain, trying to hold it together to be a good ruler of Bones' line.

I don't think i could of handled reading that dang letter! I was crying enough at the time. The scene was written so well i did feel everything Cat was feeling and it was tough! Please Jeaniene don't do that to me again!!

I was also wondering about the letter and box. I am glad we didn't *see* the letter either. It felt too private - like it was just for Cat.

It was just for Cat which means it's at least MY business. I don't know about you but in my fantasies, I am Cat. LOL. It was a good decision to let us all decide what we would have wanted him to say.

I'm the same way Cat is Cat, but yet I'm her. Does that make sense? I'm Cat, but Cat is still herself. I can't even explain it.

I have tears in my eyes and cat-eating-grin why? first because reading this makes me remember how hard and painful it was to read that scene, and i'm smiling because I so love this forum. I keep finding topics like this filled with juice details of the series, AND Jeaniene is truly awesome

Jeaniene please tell us what was in that letter?!? I keep thinking that maybe Bones left cat some really meaningful words or something but I have to know. What does everyone think was in that letter?

You know I have been curious about that too!! Its bugging me lol

Like most of you, I, too, wondered what was in that letter...and what happened to the box once Bones came back. Thanks Jeaniene for letting us know it is (somewhat) tucked safely away with Mencheres.

As for the actual contents of the letter. I am sort of glad we don't know what it said, since Cat was too distraught to even open it really. This scene really got to me, so I am not sure how much I would've been able to read if the letter had been revealed. It prolly would've been a couple days before I would have been able to continue through the book.

Thinking about it, when I read that passage I wanted to cry cause I felt her pain, I still do!!

I am too curious about the letter but am glad that she didn't read it during that scene. I know that if I was in her place I wouldn't have been able to handle reading it either! It's almost like reading what Bones had to say would make everything 'final' about him being gone in away. thats kinda how I felt about it.
