I was reading over at the Gergor thread about Bones grandsire and i started thinking what is up with him? He is probably the most secretive out of all of the charcters involved because even though he shows up alot we still dont know that much about him personally, other than being Bones grandsire and having been married to (that evil @@%56), and also having magical powers and seeing the future.

I personally cannot wait for his book, anyone have any theories about what Mencheres will be up to in book 4? What is is true relationship with Gregor? because i keep thinking they were friends at least until he imprisoned him.

I agree with you, Mencheres doesn't seem like the type to play police and imprison people, quite the opposite actually, he waits until he have to act. So either Gregor is really, really bad or Mencheres had a personal interest.
Both options seems...not good.

I don't get the impression that Mencheres is hesitant to act. Remember, the only reason he was hesitant with Patra is he loved her, and you know hope - it springs eternal

I'm pretty sure he spent all that time just hoping that she would work out her hatred of him and come back.

i agree about Patra Mencheres must have really loved her to have been unable to kill her all this time. However now that she is gone who do you think will be his romance interest? Justina? maybe Also i have a feeling that there still is something that he isnt telling Cat and maybe it will be revealed in book 4

Poor Mecheres, even if Patra was a cow he has still lost the love of his life and I cant see him having any more romances, in fact i wonder if he had any little flings in the centuries that him and Patra were not actually together

I sincerely doubt if he would have done that - remember by vampire law that would have allowed her to have him legally killed for adultery. They really take the "til death do us part" seriously even if they don't say it!!

Patra had affairs deliberately to irritate Mencheres and he was wise enough to just let if slide past him, no matter how much it hurt him. But if he couldn't bring himself to kill her after everything she did in AGE he sure as heck wasn't going to kill her over a few flings. Remember, she got Bones even the one time trying to get Mencheres to kill him before the prophecy could be fulfilled.

Prophecies just get in your way - you're so nervous about doing something that may or may not derail it that you most likely will end up just frozen and doing nothing!! I really wouldn't want to know anything about my future.
