Q. Do we know how many Night Huntress books there will be? When will the next one come out?
A. Jeaniene has announced that she has signed contracts for Cat & Bones 6 & 7. She will make a decision on more books as she writes.
The title of the next book (#5) is This Side of the Grave and is scheduled to release February 22, 2011.
She also has yet to be named Cat & Bones #6 and an additional Cat & Bones short story scheduled to release in 2011.

Q. What is the order of the books and where do the short stories fit in?

Q. When are you going to write a book for Vlad or Ian?
A. Re-more spinoff books. I’ve been very vocal about wanting to do a book (or two, or more) on Vlad. Ian I’d like to write about one day but he’s nowhere near ready to settle down yet. As for when I’ll be able to announce more details about spinoffs, contractually, I had to turn in revisions and copyedits on THIS SIDE OF THE GRAVE plus initial chapters on C&B6 before I could submit new proposals to my publisher. I’ve completed all my contractual requirements as of *checks clock* two hours ago, so I’ll be sending them my ideas for a Vlad book asap. Cross your fingers for me!

Q. Can the vampires in the Night Huntress procreate?
A. After the change, the human’s heartbeat and breathing stop immediately. Other bodily functions—such as tear ducts, urine, and sperm—take a few days to shut off (HG3). For the first couple of days after the transition, a vampire is still able to reproduce.

Q. Who Changed Whom?
A. Charles (Spade), Ian, Bones, and Timothy were sent to a prison colony in New Southwales together in Australia. Ian ran away, during that time met Mencheres who turned him. Returned to the colony and killed everyone except Bones, Timothy, and Spade. Spade and Bones were forcibly turned. Spade by Mencheres and Bones by Ian. Timothy chose to be turned and was turned by an un-named third vampire the same night.

Q. How does a vampire in your world become master of their own line? How does this differ from possessing master vampire powers?
