My copy of the book is coming back to North Carolina today. As in today. Like, I have to wait NO LONGER!

I felt this book was a better about bringing the brothers back in, but in the others we were missing them a lot. I'm going to be honest, I'm skipping things I didn't think I'd ever skip in this book. However, I'm skipping the BoB on purpose. Don't care about them. Not interested.
Spoiler: show
If Throe hadn't ended up in the compound I wouldn't have known Xcor had hurt him like that.

Spoiler: show
Personally, I'm hoping Layla will choose Throe. And I'm also praying there is no baby. To me, that will screw everything up for Qhuay.
I'm sure it will end up being Xcor with the whole, he's ugly and she's gorgeous kind of thing. I'm just not feeling Xcor, he is still the enemy.

I like the Throe/Layla pairing better but I'm not sure about the baby thing. Maybe the warden was just s******g with readers and besides I heard Qhuay are next so I have no idea how there story is going to be written with Qhuinn ending up with Blay and impregnating Layla.

Jamie and Pink...

Spoiler: show
We don't know that Layla will survive the pregnancy. Look at how high of a mortality rate pregnancy is among the BDB vamps. That would actually tie things up rather nicely. Layla dies during childbirth, Qhuinn and Blay raise the child. And of course it should be a girl to remind Qhuinn of Layla and cause potential problems down the road for our favorite M/M duo.

Just finished Lover Reborn. Enjoyed it, but

Spoiler: show
also felt it lacked something. I liked Tohr for a while, really liked Autumn and the twist to her story, loved JM and Xhex, although that storyline fizzled a bit, it just seemed that the secondary storylines didn't have enough tension left in them to think they will continue. But I will also say that I'm liking Qhuinn much more. I do like the new character, Assail. The mention of all of the remaining brothers seemed very cursory, considering Tohr was one of the "originals" ... couldn't they have had more conversation or something? And I needed more of my fav, Rhage!

evilqueen21 wrote:Nope! Not at all, like I mentioned somewhere, either twitter or fb I felt really bad for Saxton, as much as I wanted to dislike him for being in between Blay & Qhuinn I really can't, he's stuck in the same position as Blay was with Qhuinn by being in love with someone who didn't 'feel' it in the same way, but even worse is that Saxton gets a taste of it by being with Blay now, but knows it won't last. He knows Blay can't love him the way he does Qhuinn. How awful must that be? Knowing that your a fill in, second best? And yet you know he's going to step aside and let Blay go because he wants Blay's happiness, more than his own. Like I said I just feel SO bad for him. *sniffs*

Especially (for those who've finished LR) :
Spoiler: show
You know that all the work & research Saxton was doing in LR is more than likely him finding loopholes and him rewriting the laws to enable Wrath to make Qhuinn a "true" Brother! SO SELFLESS OF HIM!!! *sad sigh*

Spoiler: show
As for Saxton & Throe HEA, I think that would be fun! Plus with Xcor being matched up with Layla, it would make a great subplot for their book! *G*

Yes!! to all of the above! :handgestures-salute: Sax is so selfless and generous, he reminds me of Phury way back in Lover Awakened. Except, of course, Phury never got Bella for any length of time...that still kills me. If I were hanging out in the mansion, I'd hug Phury everyday. Assuming, I wasn't in the forge with V. ;)

Why does Xcor have to fall for the pure virginal Chosen type just because he thinks he's ugly and foul and the same with Throe. It seems to me that these two respect women for their status just like when they captured Payne in LU. But I'm curious to see who gets Layla.

pinksapphire -
Spoiler: show
The value of a woman's status being of great importance to Xcor and Throe struck me too. They were all ready to punish Payne until they realized she's a Chosen. And they are all over Layla's supposed superiority. It seems hypocritical to me, 'cause these guys look down on the Brothers and Wrath because of their status and want to take over the throne because they hate the established hierarchy. So what's up with that, BoB? Somebody should smack them - and I hope Layla does (yeah, right...)

Just finished LR last night. I actually did really like it. I don't cry, like.. ever usually, and there were just so many intimate, emotional moments. Cannot imagine how difficult it was to write this book, and try to convey how someone in Tohr's situation would feel/do.

There were times, especially earlier in the books when I could say I agreed that it was lacking something here or there, but overall I enjoyed the tidal waves of emotion that was being brought on by the warden. It seemed to me, that a number of the recent previous books really left out a lot of the brothers, and although I think they were kind of just thrown in at the end just before the ceremony I was happy to see them and truly hope the following books have more of them.

Spoiler: show
I'm quite interested to see how the BoB, and more specifically Xcor evolve in the future. Even in just this book alone, he's evolved into more of a powerful figurehead. Making decisions, not just because, that's what the bloodletter would do, but because he feels it's right. He's screwed up that's for sure, he's made horrible decisions, but deep down I'm afraid i'm rooting for a major overhaul for him. (Please, no rocket launcher).

I think Layla is being stupid (brash, I know). I like her, but when her needing came I thought she was being unbelievably cruel to Qhuinn by putting him in that position. However, it's awesome that Qhuinn went with it, I think this would be good for him, assuming a child lives.

Oh, and I love me some Lassiter.

I just finished the book and I'm with Trader I felt it lack something also. I liked the book, but I felt all the side stories took away from the main characters (Thor/Autumn).

In regards to Layla and Qhuinn:
Spoiler: show
I don’t know if anyone remembers but Qhuinn had a vision of a daughter, so Layla's needing and “sudden” desperation to have a baby fits, seeing that she won't have another needing for possibly 5 or 10 years. Although according to previous books about the Chosen sanctuary, and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, Layla should have been off-cycle, due to her frequent visits to the other side.

Loved the Lassiter and new drug lord scenes.

Spoiler: show
That would be perfect! She should just die  I just don't see how Blay can look at the baby and think good things about it you know? If I was in love with someone and let's say I can't get pregnant, and he got another girl pregnant "for me". I'd hate him and I couldn't look at the kid. I look at things in books in a personal way just so I can feel the emotion better, and that would be unbearable for me. For Qhuinn, I know he wants a baby but for Blay and Qhuinn I don't think it's a good idea.

I'm not sure I understand

Spoiler: show
Quinn getting Layla pregnant for Blay's sake? Not sure what you mean there, or maybe I'm reading that wrong.

I thought he went ahead with it because both of them wanted something that was "theirs" since everything they both had (L & Q) was given to them by someone else, but having a baby would be something they would have for themselves. I thought Layla seemed very desperate about it, don't know if that was because of her conflicted feelings for Xcor or her remorse for betraying the Brotherhood by feeding him.

Q has come a long way. His admitting his feelings, even though it was in a non-verbal manner, to himself and Blay at the end was very touching.

I wonder what will happen when JM wants a child... Xhex didn't seem all that interested in young, did she?

I guess I could say I missed that heartbreaking, snot-sobbing, box of tissue ending we got with Rhage, Z, and V...

Question:
Spoiler: show
Did you think that the JM/Xhex storyline was concluded when she said she loved him and called him hellren? Cause I can't imagine its all wrapped up that nice and neat.
